Being behind the camera as the photographer is always a different experience each and every time I get to photograph. Honestly, you can plan as much as you want but it's good to expect the unexpected haha.. you never really know what is going to happen on adventures alone or photographing people. Everyone and everything is different in it's own way so it's great to experience different places, people, energy and country.
From what my camera captures is a beautiful view, whereas the view behind the lens, the opposite way, is quite tragic haha.. it is quite bland and not really worthy of appraisal. There's people exercising, cyclists, cars and trucks, it can be a lot haha
I mostly photograph sunrises near the bay, more of a shoreline than a beach, so in the morning the ground is most uncomfortable, I am either sitting on solid concrete or rocks haha.. although when the sun hits, the view can be most spectacular so once you get a nice groove happening, you forget all about the ground and focus on photographing that wonderful moment in front of you.
The best way I'd describe being behind the lens is whilst having to stop and focus, no matter what I'm photographing is like, you know in movies where someone fires a gun and the camera has a close up of the actor/actress breathing? that's how I feel every time I can feel like it's going to be 'that pic' or that best possible photograph. It's that "being able to breathe while looking cool" moment haha not that I look cool at all, just for example...
When I use to photograph events, it's quite challenging to get 'that specific pic' or find a second to breathe and compose yourself; so veering off to something that's the opposite of that, sitting alone in the morning light is very calming and I get to experience that first breathable connection with mother earth. I really miss photographing music as it's really amazing and I find that same connection with it as I do photographing a sunrise. It's always a blessing/great feeling to be able to photograph when I want to capture something beautiful. Landscapes have definitely become a favourite thing to capture, followed by music and creative portraits would also be on that list of things I'll always love to capture.
These photos attached to this blog are some of the behind the lens pics I've taken to show you what the view is like from the other side haha... nothing particularly fancy, but it's always a great journey to visit these places and continue to witness amazing moments
